My small group really benefitted from these studies that brought home to us the surprising power, compassion and countercultural mission of Jesus. Comprehensive leader's notes help with preparation, and the reflection and application questions are well crafted to provide opportunities to live out what we learn. As a previous reviewer points out, each study divides into two or three parts that could easily be individual sessions! As the leader I worked around this by choosing one part to emphasise and spend a little more time on, but it does take bearing in mind and advance planning. I would love to run this set of studies again some day in 15 or 16 sessions, with even more reflection and application.
This is excellent material and I agree with the previous reviewer in everything. The only problem is there is far too much content in each study. We could easily have spent two or three weeks in each section and we found this rather frustrating, especially as we are trying to train up new leaders who found it intimidating.
Brilliant study book. Encourages thinking outside the box. Section for teaching, allows the student to get an insight into the right train of thought, relevant to the study. Very highly recommended.
