Description

You’ve heard of Disney World; now welcome to Bible World!

This search-and-find book visualises various Bible genres as a series of “lands” in a theme park with detailed, fun and colourful Where's Wally-style illustrations.

As children explore these Bible "lands", they’ll discover for themselves the way Scripture has been collected and organised—from Genesis to Revelation. They will also see the main theme that runs throughout the Bible—God’s promise of a rescuing King and its fulfillment in Jesus Christ.

Explanations of the different Bible genres are included, as well as specific Bible heroes and events for children to spot. It's a fun and engaging way for kids to learn more about the Bible.

Written by Mike Nappa, award-winning children’s author, and best-selling creator of many books for families. His highlight reel includes several VeggieTales comics, the Bibleman Bible Storybook and the Gold Medallion-nominated Family Nights Tool Chest series. Illustrated by Emiliano Migliardo.

Who knew that a trip to the amusement park could remind your children about the storyline of Scripture? That’s what’s likely to happen to your family in the near future, thanks to this book from Mike Nappa. Roller-coasters and thrill rides become signposts that point your children’s attention to different parts of the Bible. Moses commanded the Israelites in Deuteronomy 6 to "talk about God’s words when you are at home and on the road." Now, as it turns out, you can talk about them at the amusement park too.

“Became a favorite!”

We love Welcome to the Bible World! I got it for a long road trip we had and my 4 years old son and I love it so much that it has been our bedtime book for the last 4 weeks! We go through one “entrance” a day, talk about the Bible stories and even make up our own “seek and find” items.

The illustrations are very nice and the Bible references are so clever! It became a favorite and it’ll be our Christmas gift to all the kids in our neighborhood this year. So glad we found this book!

“Fun Intro to Reading the Bible Literarily”

Welcome to BibleWorld is a fun children's book by author Mike Nappa. The book contains vibrant, engaging pictures by illustrator Emiliano Migliardo. The book is about a fictional amusement park and each section contains a theme park ride that corresponds to a literary genre of the Bible. Welcome to BibleWorld is like The Good Book Company's Seek and Find books and it aims to teach children to understand the Bible literarily. Each page presents readers with the opportunity to look for different objects that represent different Bible stories.

The objects are listed as bullet points and within parenthesis next to each object are the chapters and verses for finding the corresponding accounts in the Bible. The object lists contain words only and not pictures so this book is probably best for older children. I would have appreciated if pictures of the hidden objects would have been included with the lists because it would allow my kids to explore the book on their own.

I appreciated the emphasis on exploring the genres of the Bible because while my kids enjoyed looking at the book, they were also learning about approaching the Bible literarily. Understanding the Bible as literature is something I didn't understand as a child so I'm thankful that this book makes it easy to introduce my children to accurate Bible reading skills early on.

Each area of the BibleWorld amusement park contains a brief overview of that genre of Scripture. The overviews are simple and helpful for young readers and even those who are new to reading the Bible. Although this is a children's book, I believe that the summaries are helpful for readers of all ages who are hoping to gain a simple overview of the entire Bible. We really enjoyed Welcome to BibleWorld and I hope to see similar books published in the future!

I received Welcome to BibleWorld compliments of The Good Book Company in exchange for my honest review.

“Clever and Fun for Kids and Adults”

"Welcome to BibleWorld" cleverly imagines different parts of Scripture as a theme park, with each section of the park representing a subset of the Bible, such as the Minor Prophets, the gospels, and Paul's letters. The book explores the Bible from beginning to end in a unique and funny way, with text from Mike Nappa to guide the reader and detailed seek-and-find illustrations from Emilano Migliardo. This book is similar to the Where's Waldo? series, and I pored over the pages for about forty-five minutes to find all of the hidden images.

Many elements of this book made me laugh, like "Solomon's Smoochies" as The Tunnel of Love in the "Poets' Paradise" spread. There are lots of funny details for people to recognize, and the seek-and-find guide includes Bible references for each of the hidden objects readers are looking for. For example, there is a hidden shepherd's staff in "Poets' Paradise," with Psalm 23:1 as the reference. This book is a delightfully unconventional way to explore the Bible, and Mike Nappa provides simple, child-friendly explanations of each section of the Bible.

I highly recommend "Welcome to BibleWorld" as both a teaching resource and a fun read. I enjoyed finding every hidden detail, and would recommend this book for elementary-aged kids, teens, and adults. Although other seek-and-find books from the Good Book Company are geared towards younger children, this one is satisfyingly complex and difficult for older readers, and the humor throughout also skews towards an older age. However, this could be a great activity for younger children if they are doing it with an older sibling or a parent who can help guide them and provide hints. Overall, I found this book quirky, fun, and delightful, and I will definitely buy copies as gifts in the future.

“Really fun!”

I think this book is great for anyone who loves to search and find images.

Children are introduced to the layout of the Bible with a short synopsis of each section. Along with each section’s description, Mr. Nappa gives a little list of items to look for within the illustrations.

Mr. Nappa’s information and fun seek and find objects are depicted in an amusement park-type setting.

Familiar Bible stories are illustrated as brightly colored park rides with delightful, animated riders and bystanders. The illustrations are packed full with engaging people, animals, and objects that draw the reader in to study each illustration and search diligently for each object listed.

This book really is fun and I would highly recommend it.
Keeping Welcome to BibleWorld in your home library, elementary school classroom, or Sunday school room, will provide your child with an inviting pastime.

A big thank you to The Good Book Company for the complimentary copy of this book. This is my honest review.

“The World of the Bible”

Welcome to Bible World is a seek-and-find activity book to help your children explore all 66 books of the Bible. For ages 4-8, it is a fun and engaging way to introduce them to story of Scripture.

Based on the premise of a Biblical theme park, Emilano Migliardo’s illustration are exciting and imaginative. From the Land of the Law to Gospel Country, this book is clever and will catch your kid’s attention.

The World of the Bible

The main message of each “land” is included as written text. The book also prompts your children to search and find different items taken from the actual Biblical text.

This is the type of book that you can imagine kids dreaming about in Sunday School. Introduce your kids to the world of the Bible – which is truly better than any theme park.

I received a media copy of Welcome to BibleWorld and this is my honest review.

“Such a creative twist on the seach-and-find!”

As someone who grew up with Where’s Waldo, I was so pleased to find Welcome to BibleWorld by Mike Nappa and Emiliano Migliardo for the next generation of kids!

It is a search-and-find that imagines what it would look like if the Bible was turned into an amusement park. To that end, each spread features rides and attractions inspired by different sections of the Bible, such as "Prophets' Wilderness" and "Mail Island."

My kids (aged 5-9) really enjoyed finding each item, which also included it’s corresponding verse, such as "a fancy turban" connects with Leviticus 8:9 or "a talking donkey" with Numbers 22:28.

The only things that I would love to be different would be for it to include an answer key (on one page, we had to find “a girl praying” and couldn’t tell whether the lady was clapping or praying with her eyes open). It would also have been cool to have some of the Scriptures actually included or featured, rather than just attributed.

But it definitely got us talking and kept my kids engaged for all afternoon! They even wanted to bring it with them to a doctor’s appointment.

Many thanks to The Good Book Co. who provided a free copy to me to facilitate this review.

“Engaging Children with the Big Bible Story”

A seek and find book (a little like a Where's Wally book), Mike Nappa and Emiliano Migliardo show an overview of the Bible through cartoons and hidden treasures! Although this will eventually end up in the hands of a 6 year old, it gave me a good hour or so of joy as I tried to find all of the items and see if I could work out where all of the Bible books were hidden. It's genuinely a really cleverly and creatively book!

It's also a lovely hardback book so would make a great gift for a child. I was particularly impressed that at the back of the book, you can find all of the Bible references used for each cartoon scene, so you could read this with a child and then follow up each night with the Bible story for something a bit deeper.

“Great potential & educational connections”

What I like about the book:
This book will build interest in the Books of the Bible, and help create more biblical literate kids.
The pictures and seek and find are super fun and mirror secular books, but the hidden items and the attractions in the amusement park are connected to events in the Bible, and events that engage children in the events of the Bible and wonder if these concepts are really true.
Scripture references with hidden items that connect to a specific passage that will create a more biblically literate person.
The theme park entrances to different areas each lead to a different subset or genre of the Books of the Bible. The titles given are more fun than traditional titles, and also more memorable.
The intro to each park area share the main themes of this section of the Bible, and teach the reader what important concepts connect in each genre.
The author asks questions to the reader to build the interaction with the kids and the book.

What I wonder about the book:
The glossy pages are thick and seem enduring, but I wonder if it will show fingerprints and attract dirt to the pages more than matte format.

Educational Connections:
Teach the books of the Bible, teach the genres, and even the timeline as you build interest with this book.
Have your children create their own hidden items for new pages or add to these pages with the bible references.
Take away- ask the kids to see if other people know what books of the Bible belong in each theme park. (The kids will need to remember the answer to know if adults or others are correct.)

Thankful to partner with the Goodbook company and read a review copy of the book.

“AWESOME!”

I have seen similar biblically based children’s books to this one that take on the format of a Where’s Waldo. Nappa introduces the book by asking the reader “What if the Bible were a theme park?”. He then asks the reader to join him in discovering the beauty of the Bible through the wonderful world of a theme park.

He structures the book with nine ways to exploring the Bible. Four theme park entrances lead to the Old Testament while five other entrances lead to the New Testament. Each ride throughout the theme park also correlates with a specific story of the Bible that the reader is to guess before double checking the answers provided in the back.

Each entrance to the theme park provides a brief introduction of the part of the Bible it covers. For example, the very first entrance introduces the Law and provides a few short facts and purpose of this section within the Bible.

The illustrations are wildly fun and engaging with each section having four to six different items to search for in the chaos. My six year old and nine year old both enjoyed attempting to find the hidden objects as well as guess the biblical correlation with each them park ride.

I received a copy of this book from The Good Book Company in exchange for an honest review.
