I received Seek and Find: More Old Testament Bible Stories compliments of The Good Book Company in exchange for my honest review.
Seek and Find: More Old Testament Bible Stories is the latest installment in the Seek and Find series by Sarah and Andre Parker. This book includes 8 Old Testament stories for children to learn. Each page includes lovely illustrations with items for children to look for. They also include a brief synopsis of an Old Testament story and a Scripture reference so children and adult readers can look up the full context of the story if they’d like to.
The synopsis for each Bible story in Seek and Find: More Old Testament Bible Stories emphasizes God and concludes with one aspect of His character. I love this because it will help my children remember who God is. I’ve heard of Christians disregarding the Old Testament due to not understanding it but I love that this book helps readers of all ages understand how the Old Testament reveals who God is. Some of the stories conclude with truths about God including: “We can trust God when things are hard, God is the One True God, and God is always in control.”
My younger children often have a harder time paying attention when our family reads the Bible together so I love that Seek and Find: More Old Testament Bible Stories has found a unique way to captivate children’s attention and draw them to the beauty of the Bible and ultimately God. We love this series and can’t wait to read future volumes!
These books are such a fun way to introduce children to the Bible. Each illustration is beautifully-detailed & will hopefully inspire a lifelong love for God's Word.
These are some of our family's favorite books! Being able to engage with Bible stories in such a fun way helps build their familiarity, and is a great way to help my kids increase their focusing skills as they search. These were some of my favorite activities as a kid, as I'm so glad for these Bible-based options for my own children.
What a great addition to this great series. This book is fun, vibrant, and a little quirky. I love this interactive way to get littles engaged in Bible stories. Helps you slow down and focus on little details that hopefully will help the stories stick with them.
I absolutely love to find hidden pictures. It makes me so happy when I find what I am looking for.
Your child will be happy too as they work through Sarah Parker's newest book, Seek and Find: More Old Testament Bible Stories.
Apparently, there are over 450 items to find, but I can only say that because the cover says so. I did not count them. I trust the book.
The hard cover will last many years. The inside pages are nice and glossy. The illustrations are drawn by Andre Parker and they are very colorful and clever.
Just look at one of the inside pages, doesn't it look fun? I'm so glad that the actual item's picture is included in the list of images to find, and not just the name of the item. The picture really helps kids (and me) know what we are looking for.
Your kids will get plenty of practice counting objects too because there are ten different pots, nine sacks of grain, ten purple seaweeds, and nine buzzy bees to find. And of course, there's plenty more.
Each two-page spread contains a large image with the items to find, and also a nice paragraph summary of an Old Testament Bible story. The Scripture reference is included if you'd like to read it directly from the Bible.
After each story summary is a simple statement about a characteristic of God. These are great statements to teach your kids so that they remember how good our God is.
I would highly recommend Seek and Find: More Old Testament Bible Stories for any Christian family that enjoys Bible stories and finding hidden picture puzzles. This book would also be fantastic in a preschool Sunday school or children's church classroom as well as a church library.
SEEK AND FIND MORE OLD TESTAMENT STORIES - BOARD BOOK: I get so excited about quality faith-based items. The Good Book Company has produced a top-notch group of children's activity books. Some you read and find items and some you get more involved like coloring, tracing, finding, matching, etc. In the Seek and Find More Old Testament Bible Stories you get 2 books. One is a large board book (really nice and sturdy) and the accompanying activity book which you actually color and mark in. (Purchase separately or in a bundle.)
I just love these books. They teach on many levels. Learn more about the Bible stories, learn to look for minor details, count, match, etc. It's hard for me to select my favorite story in this book, they are all so well done and are so much fun! I highly recommend.
SEEK AND FIND MORE OLD TESTAMENT STORIES "ACTIVITY BOOK" - My thoughts: This softcover activity book accompanies the Seek and Find More Old Testament Bible Stories and provides many varied activities for the young child to do. The activities are learning activities for keen mind development and help facilitate learning the Bible stories from the Old Testament.
This faith-based activity book is a high quality book with excellent activities and drawings. I highly recommend.
I was so excited to see this book being released. We have the other 3 in the series and my kids love them. Truthfully, I love them, too! It takes a fun activity for kids and makes it focused on the Bible instead of just seeking and finding random objects or popular TV characters.
Just like the other books in the series, this book is a fantastic way to teach children stories from the Bible in a fun and engaging way. Each 2 page spread includes wonderfully detailed pictures with Biblically accurate skin-tones, bright colors, and fun elements. There are 10 sets of items to find on each spread corresponding to the numbers 1-10. Scripture references from the Old Testament are included to read alongside the short summary in the book. You can use this book to teach children Bible stories, number recognition, and patience while looking for the hidden details.
Each of the 2 page spreads in this book focuses on a different story from the Old Testament. It’s such a great way to teach children the Old Testament.
I really love these seek and find books and look forward to what they come up with next! The Easter story? Minor and major prophets? The early church? The miracles of Jesus? The 7 I AMs of Jesus? So many amazing possibilities!
These seek-and-find books have been so well-loved in our home and are the perfect rest-time book. We have brought them on vacations for airplane or car travel or for spending quality time with your child interactively learning about stories from the Bible.
With each spread, there is a summary paragraph of the Bible story, a Bible reference to look up the passage, and then 10 prompts to find in the amazingly illustrated image.
If you have a child who enjoys seek-and-find books, I cannot recommend these enough!!
Hours of entertainment & bible learning! 🤩
*I was sent this book in exchange for an honest review
This board book features eight double-page spreads with illustrations of scenes from the Old Testament. Sarah Parker introduces each story in a brief paragraph, and she includes both the Bible reference and a simple takeaway message from that story, such as, "We can trust God when things are hard." The illustrations from André Parker visualize the story and include lots of little details for kids to look for based on the sidebar. The book includes multiple popular Old Testament Bible stories, including the story of Joseph, the parting of the Red Sea, and Esther.
This activity-focused book does not retell the stories in detail, so if someone is looking for a book with more information about each narrative, this won't be their first choice. However, this is a great book to supplement family readings of each Bible story, or for kids who are already very familiar with the material. The illustrations include both historically accurate and whimsical details, but they never take liberties with the source material, and the characters reflect a variety of different skin tones, according to their real-life ethnic backgrounds.
This will be a fun gift book for kids, can be a supplement to family devotions, and would be a good activity book for a Sunday school or church preschool environment. It is also complex enough that it is not just for very young children. Younger kids can focus on the elements that are easier to find, while older kids will be able to find more and can do some of the additional challenges described inside the front covers. This is a great seek-and-find book that explores lessons from Bible stories in a simple and appealing way, and I highly recommend the whole series.
I received a free copy from the publisher, and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
I was happy to see another addition to this series, as our other ones have been loved! I like to give these seek and find books to my littles during morning time. It keeps their hands occupied and them usually quiet.
I especially like that each story includes the Biblical reference so if you were using this in a preschool class it would be very helpful to know where to turn to. And also 👏🏻 for including the story of Esther! I have often seen this story omitted from story Bibles and that makes me sad because the story of Esther is beautiful and very important!
